Hello from baaska

This is Baaska, your friendly neighborhood sushi chef, born and raised in Mongolia. I’ve been making sushi for about 9 years and have been in the restaurant industry for over 12 years.

Fun fact: I’ve never had sushi until I was about 17 years old. I had sushi for the first time during a summer trip in Japan. At first, I didn’t think it was going to make a huge impact on my life. But here I am now, making sushi for a living.

Over the past three years, I’ve been building Sushi By Baaska through private in-home dining and pop-ups, serving the community with high-quality sushi with a little flair. And now?

I’m opening my very own restaurant in the Mill City District of Downtown Minneapolis.
